An internationally recognized expert, she is the creator of IntimacyMoons Couples Retreats, rated by The New York Times, Women's Health, Fodor's Travel, and Travel Curator as one of the top couples retreats worldwide. She has also been frequently featured in over 100 national and international media publications including the Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, CBC, CNN Health, Glamour, Latina and Black Enterprise.
Marissa is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) by the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT) and a Certified Sex Therapist (CST) and Certified Sexuality Educator (CSE) by the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT).
Michael Nelson, COO and Co-Founder
Michael Nelson is the Chief Operating Officer and Co-Founder of IntimacyMoons. He is a Senior Operations & Risk Specialist with 15 years of experience in International Financial Development Institutions. Michael possesses a M.B.A. in Finance and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with additional certifications in agile project management.
Michael is a graduate of Georgetown University and the George Washington University. He is also the proud husband of Marissa Nelson, and together they have a daughter, Zayla.
